Anne Civardi

Anne uses light and form to play with the concepts of human and natural fragility. Delicate curves and sensuous movement flow through her work to reveal the stone’s colour, character, markings and often its translucency. Emotive and reflective each piece questions our understanding of strength and resilience, focusing on its beauty and individuality. This brings the stone alive. For Anne, choosing the right piece of stone for each sculpture is considered with great care.

Anne was born and educated in Africa. She studied art in both America and London where she graduated from Heatherley’s School of Fine Art. It was here her love of stone carving began. Anne carves in a variety of stone, including alabaster. She also casts her pieces in bronze. Her work is still inspired by the shells collected on the beaches of Kenya in her childhood.

Anne has exhibited and sold her work internationally and also undertakes commissions for both private and commercial clients.
